Hooded Oriole (adult male) in a residential yard (Davis CA)
Hooded Orioles are not common in our area (Yolo county, northern California); but this fellow and his mate showed up in Davis and nested here three years in a row.
They chose a palm tree in a neighbor's back yard, and visited our hummingbird feeders all summer; leaving before winter. They were not seen here again since 1999.
